Swimming Technique & Training Session

WHAT IS IT?

This is a 90-min session with a 30 – 45-min focus upon developing technique for front crawl and open water swimming, and then a 45 – 60-min training session for endurance swimmers.

We have 4 lanes each with a pace range in them so swimmers are working with similar level swimmers.
Lane paces are roughly

  1. 3’00 – 2’30 per 100m pace
  2. 2’30 – 2’00 per 100m pace
  3. 2’00 – 1’45 per 100m pace
  4.  <1’45 per 100m pace

We have 2 -3 experienced coaches on deck running the sessions and working with all athletes.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM THE SESSIONS

Head coach, Mark Pearce, leads the sessions supported by his assistant coaches.

In this Summer course, we are will be working on some open water skills as well as stroke technique.

Each lane has its own programme, that is relevant to the ability and level with in the lane. You can see an example of a session for Lane 1, Lane 2, Lane 3 or Lane 4 by clicking the link on each lane.

During the session, you will be getting instruction on how to complete the drills, how this integrates into your full stroke, how to correct your execution of the drill.

After the technical section is completed you will move onto the training element.

For the summer term, we are focussing upon developing Critical Swim SpeedAerobic Endurance and Fatigue Resistance.

Each week participants receive an email with:

  • Hints and Tips
  • Drill or technique focussed video tips
  • The session for the week
  • Group feedback on the previous weeks session
